In 2014, I taught ceramics for sex months at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule in Kiel, in absence of the faculty’s professor. My main goal was to propagate an active and experimental attitude: to conduct tests, see pieces turn out fine or fall apart, and try again. Individual guidance and assessments involved many substantial discussions that centered around the students’ artistic development. To me, the main measures were their commitment and the ability to reflect critically on their own work.
