Food for Thought – Kunstenlab, Deventer (2014)
commissioned by the Kunstenlab for the opening of their new building
“Yeeeeah! We’re going to roast a Barbie!” The children are obviously in the mood. But the adult audience are also happy to join in this reprise of the BBQ (performance #6). The experience of all those people consuming a marshmalow body remains fascinatiing but the meaning the image originally held for me seems to have disappeared. Inside in the exhibition space there is a new work on display, one without human figures, I say goodbye turning the roast – with a large grin.
